Why the license matters

AZ ROC 324026

ROC 324026 is a KA Dual Engineering license. It covers the grading, the concrete, and the lighting on one license, for residential and commercial work alike. Many court builders hold a narrower specialty license and bring in other contractors for the rest of the job.

The build

What a build includes

  • Grading and concrete slab

The pad is graded to drain and the slab is poured and cured before any color goes on.

  • Acrylic color surfacing

One color, or color zones for the key, the lane and the surround, with regulation or custom lines.

  • Hoops and backboards

In-ground or adjustable systems, sized to the court you are building.

  • Multi-sport lines

Pickleball, tennis or volleyball lines in a second color, with nets and posts that come down when you are not using them.

  • Fencing and windscreens

Fence height and layout to suit the yard, with windscreens where wind or privacy calls for them.

  • Court lighting

Licensed for the electrical, with fixtures placed for even light across the court.

Process

How it goes

  • Site visit and measurements

We come out, measure the space, check access and grade, and talk through what you want to play on it.

  • Design and quote

You get a layout showing where the key, the three-point line and any second sport’s lines fall, your colors, and a written quote for the full build.

  • Build

Grading, slab, surfacing, hoops, fence, and lights, run by one contractor on one contract.

  • Play

We walk the finished court with you and hand it over.

Built for Arizona sun

An Arizona court spends most of the year in direct sun, and in summer the surface runs far hotter than the air. We choose the acrylic surfacing and the colors with that in mind, so the court holds its color and stays playable year round. Lighter color zones run cooler underfoot, and lighting extends play into the evening once the heat drops.

FAQ

Questions

How big is a backyard basketball court?

A full court is 94 by 50 feet at the college and pro level and 84 by 50 at high school. Most backyards take a half court, and we size the key and the three-point line to the space you have. We measure on the site visit and show you what fits.

Can one court handle more than one sport?

Yes. Basketball plus pickleball is the usual combination, and tennis or volleyball lines are also possible. Each sport’s lines go down in their own color so they are easy to tell apart, and the nets and posts come down when you are not using them.

Do you install the hoop?

Yes, in-ground or adjustable systems, sized to the court. Tell us who will be playing and we recommend the system on the site visit.

Can you light the court?

Yes. We are licensed for the electrical, so the lighting goes on the same contract as the court. LED fixtures are placed for even light across the whole playing area.

Can I choose colors or add a logo?

Yes. You choose the colors for the key, the lane and the surround from the acrylic range, and the lines go down to the regulation layout or your own plan. Logos at center court are available on request.

Where do you work?

All of Arizona. We are headquartered in Phoenix and build across the state, from Tucson and Yuma to Prescott and Flagstaff. Tell us where the court is going and we confirm on the first call.
