Ultimately Justifiable Backyard game Court Ideas

Deciding on what type of game court to add to your residence is not an easy job. Options are endless, and when it comes to your home and what you value, there’s a lot to consider. This list describes five different types of game courts, some you may have already considered, and some you may have not.

Multi-Use Court

Fancy playing tennis, basketball, hockey, and pickleball? Well, you can have them all in a multi-use game court. You don’t have to make that super hard decision and potentially miss out on a favorite pastime. Multi-game courts are designed for your favorite sports to be played whenever you want. The only caveat is that you need to move the nets around depending on what you’re playing, so you can’t have a full basketball game going at the same time as pickleball. In that case, you’ll want to look into our next court.

Shuffleboard

Did you know that the earliest recording of shuffleboard being played was 1532 in England? It started with people shoving pennies down a board! Times surely have changed since then, and so has the idea of just leaving shuffleboards to game rooms or bars. Now you can have your very own shuffleboard kit in your backyard.

Outdoor Chess Set

You probably aren’t planning on adding a backyard chess set unless you’re an aficionado at the game, but yard chess can be fun for the whole family. It’s a fun aesthetic and brings a lot of strategy and thoughtfulness to those that play this age-old game.

Bocce Ball Court

One of our favorite games has always been bocce. Today bocce ranks as the third most-played sport in the world. Impress your guests and have some fun by adding a bocce court to any backyard setting. It’s a simple game that doesn’t require much space, and bocce balls can be purchased online or at most sporting goods stores.

Traditional Court

A backyard basketball court provides all the simplicity of playing your favorite sport and doing it within the privacy of your home yard. Traditional courts are surprisingly easy to keep within budget and allow for ease of use at any time. Just think about waking up and playing without having to drive to the courts or worry about scheduling time to make sure the courts aren’t busy. Also, the traditional backyard basketball court can be made to your liking, color choices, and additional use depending on what you want. It can be traditional but also customized to your home and family.

When you choose one of the game courts above, you won’t have to reason with friends and family when deciding to put in a court. As long as you plan to use them, they’ll feel right at home.
